3D Animation is the process of creating three-dimensional moving images and placing them into a digital world.
It is a part of using motion to make characters, props, etc., to live within the projects like TV shows, films, and games. This is completely based on the techniques used for making and performing the objects. The technique of giving movement and life to the objects is parted into three main parts:
Layout and Animation: The second part is Layout and animation, in this stage, they are positioned and animated into a particular scene. First, a layout must be determined by creating a set and adding objects to it. Then, the objects and characters must be animated by assigning animation variables. From there, models within the scene can be given life through either key framing or motion capture.
Rendering: Rendering is the final stage. In this stage, the scene is generated into the finished image. Specific software is used to do this, as the process of rendering is not something a typical computer could handle.
Computer Generated Imagery (CGI) is a form of 3D animation. 3D Animation can also take the form of Digital Sculpture. Digital Sculpture and CGI both are used for various projects in 3D animation.
"Toy Story" was the first CGI 3D animation movie. It was released in the year 1995.
