What is JEE?
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an engineering entrance examination conducted for admission to various engineering colleges in India. This entrance examination is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
This entrance examination was started and conducted for the very first time in the year 1960. At that time this entrance examination was named Common Entrance Examination (CEE), which later in 2010 it was re-named as Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). The JEE examination is conducted in two parts:
You are eligible for appearing in JEE (Advanced) 2022 provided you also satisfy all the eligibility criteria mentioned in the Information Brochure (see 11. Eligibility Criteria for Indian Nationals for Appearing in JEE (Advanced) 2022).
Category declared during JEE (Main) 2022 registration cannot be changed during JEE (Advanced) 2022 registration. Also refer to questions 11 to 14 below.
The PwD candidates with benchmark disability, with or without scribe, may get one hour compensatory time, i.e., the end time will be 13:00 IST for Paper 1 and 18:30 IST for Paper 2. However, in order to avail the compensatory time the candidate MUST opt for this compensatory time by filling up the requisite form while registering for JEE (Advanced) 2022 on the online registration portal. The format is given in Annexure-II [CERTIFICATE FORMATS of JEE (Advanced) 2022] of Information Brochure.
