AMU Entrance Exams

Aligarh Muslim University(AMU) is a public central university in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. This university was established by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan as the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental college in the year 1875.

AMU ranked 8th position among the top 20 research universities in India and ranked 824th position in Best Global Universities.

AMU offers around 156 courses on its main Aligarh campus. AMU course includes four levels of degree programs and the courses range from diploma to doctorate level programs.

To get admission to AMU you have to crack the entrance exam.

NAAC – Accredited with CGPA of 3.35 on Four Point Scale at "A+" Grade

1. AMU ranked among top ten Indian Universities in the 2021 NIRF India Rankings.
2. For the second year running, AMU finds a place in the 2021 ARWU (Academic Ranking of World Universities, also called Shanghai Ranking) list which contains only 14 topmost Indian institutions.
3. Among Universities in India, AMU ranked fourth in India Today Ranking 2021.
4. Among Universities in India, AMU ranked eighth in CWUR (Centre for World University Rankings) World University Rankings 2021-22 released in April 2021.
5. In the subject-specific ranking results of US News & World Report in its 7th Annual Survey released in December 2020, for the subject "Biology and BioChemistry", AMU ranked first among all institutions and universities in India. For the subject "Mathematics", AMU is the only institution which has been ranked in India.
6. Among Universities in India, AMU ranked fourth overall by US News & World Report in its 7th Annual Best Global Universities Rankings released in December 2020.
7. AMU finds a place for the first time ever in the 2020 ARWU (Academic Ranking of World Universities, also called Shanghai Ranking) topmost universities list which contains only 15 topmost Indian Institutions.
8. Among Universities in India, "Life Sciences" of AMU ranked first in Times Higher Education, London World University Ranking 2020 for subject "Life Sciences".
9. Among Universities in India, "Physical Sciences" of AMU ranked second in Times Higher Education, London World University Ranking 2020 for subject "Physical Sciences".
