JMI Entrance Exam

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) is a central university located in New Delhi. It was established by Mahmud Hasan Deobandi, Abdul Majeed Khwaja, Mohammad Ali Jauhar, Mukhtar Ahmed Ansari, and Hakim Ajmal Khan on October 29, 1920. It was originally established in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh in the year 1920. It moved to New Delhi in Okhla in the year 1935.

It was given the deemed status by University Grants Commission in 1962. It become a Central University on 26 December 1988.

Jamie Millia Islamia university offers over 254 courses. The course ranges are diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels.

To get admission to JMI you have to crack the entrance exam which conducts annually for different courses offered at JMI.

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) will adopt the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admitting students in undergraduate programmes for the 2022-23 academic session. It has been decided in a meeting attended by the top officials of the university that admissions for selected undergraduate courses will be done through CUET. The university has communicated to the University Grants Commission (UGC) and National Testing Agency (NTA) about the same.

Students are advised to follow university websites www.jmi.ac.in and http://jmicoe.in for updates regarding courses and other details.  Students who are interested in applying for those courses will have to fill online forms of CUET as well as JMI.

Eligibility Criteria for Jamia Entrance Exam:

    • For the undergraduate program, candidates must have passed the 12th exam from any recognized exam board.
    • Candidates must score a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the 12th exam.
    • For the postgraduate program, candidates must have passed undergraduate courses from any recognized exam board.
    • Candidates must score a minimum aggregate of 55% marks in undergraduate courses.
